This is all she gave me, but I remember that she used to take a little of the candy out of the pot with a spoon and put it in a pot of water which she had on the stove. Then she would squeeze it between her thumb and finger to see if it was ready. They she would get a large spoon and put spoonfuls on some waxed paper, and we had to wait until it cooled. Mom had that wonderful smile of hers when like a kid she would lick some of the chocolate off of her finger. One time we had picked some pecans from beneath that huge pecan tree across the street, and we had brought her some pecans, which we had peeled, and she made some chocolate pecan candy for us on that sunny afternoon of a cool fall day . She did it so fast and easily that I still remember to this day.
