Comments from Paul Martel - I remember my mother talking about Lee being a mechanic at Bordelon Motors. Maybe he was fixing cars at that filling station. She told a funny story about Lee driving a car which just had the chasis and the engine when they were living in Carlton.

One afternoon I was asking my mother about the past, which she really didn't like to talk about much because their life had been difficult not having much money, and they were always loading up the wagon and moving. She told me about Mr. Romeo who owned a store and for a penny you could get one of those large long lasting suckers that she enjoyed as a child.

They rented from my Romeo. Well, one Christmas her mother didn't have the rent money. Mom told me that grandma had asked Mr Romeo to give her more time especially since it was Christmas. Mom though it was so funny what Mr. Romeo had said to her mother, and she just started shaking with laughter when she said it in Mr. Romeo's Italian accent. Chreesmas my a**, I want my money! In fact she said it a couple of times because she though it was so funny.
