| According to the 1910 Census - Eva Simien was living on Grolee Street in Opelousas. She was single and head of the household. Her age appears to be 23; however, she was born in May of 1885 and would be either 24 or 25 depending on what month the census was taken . She spoke French and her occupation was a washwoman at home. She was paying $4.00 a month for rent. On the next page of the census her sister Lydia (age 20 - widowed?) is living in the same household with her two children Christopher (age 4) and Allen (age 1) listed as nephews of head of household Eva Simien. Lydia also spoke French and her occupation is given as washwoman at home. 1910 blank census for reference
